When a large structure is printed, how can you regulate the media diffusion into the structure to avoid necrotic cores?

There are two ways that necrotic cores can be prevented in a large structure – (1) through the fabrication of highly porous structures; (2) through the addition of vascularizing channels that allow microfluidic flow of media nutrients throughout the printed tissue. Dr. INVIVO 4D6 allows both to be done through a complex infill patterning and through the printing of vasculature-like structures that can be perfused using core-sheath methods.
