Rokit Healthcare Signs MOU with Kakao Healthcare for Diabetes Prevention and Management Collaboration

Rokit Healthcare, a leading company in organ regeneration (CEO Seok-Hwan You), announced on the 8th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Kakao Healthcare to collaborate on diabetes prevention and management.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to strengthen their research and development and business collaboration. They will combine Rokit Healthcare’s innovative regenerative treatment technology for diabetic foot ulcers (diabetic foot) with Kakao Healthcare’s digital expertise to develop personalized diabetic foot management services, aiming to improve patients’ quality of life.

Kakao Healthcare is a health management and medical service platform provided by Kakao. The platform promotes users’ health and well-being by combining various information and services, offering conveniences such as blood sugar management services for diabetic patients and a wide range of digital healthcare services, leading the related market.

Both companies recognized the growing number of diabetic patients in South Korea due to irregular eating habits, lifestyle patterns, and stress. A representative from Rokit Healthcare noted, “According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, as of 2018, 13.8% of adults over 30 years old suffer from diabetes, and 15-25% of them experience diabetic foot, which, in severe cases, requires amputation surgery.” The representative added, “With diabetic foot becoming a significant issue, it is urgent to find solutions for prevention and treatment.”

Hwang Hee, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, stated, “Through this agreement, we will combine the innovative technologies and expertise of both companies to offer customized digital healthcare services for diabetic patients, contributing to their health improvement. We look forward to continuously strengthening our cooperation with Rokit Healthcare, which will enhance the synergy between our companies.”

Seok-Hwan Yoo, CEO of Rokit Healthcare, remarked, “This agreement will allow us to offer innovative AI-driven personalized digital regenerative medical services for the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications, including diabetic foot. By combining Rokit Healthcare’s regenerative medicine technology with Kakao Healthcare’s platform capabilities, we will create synergies that provide better services to diabetic patients.”

The collaboration is expected to expand the customer base, enhance Kakao Healthcare’s large-scale user data-based medical services, and create new digital healthcare services through the partnership.

Rokit Healthcare’s highly personalized AI and bioprinting technology for treating diabetic foot has been recognized as an innovative medical technology by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The company’s organ regeneration medical devices have been registered with the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and have also received CE MDR certification in Europe and FDA approval in the United States. Rokit Healthcare’s technology has been recognized by organizations such as GSMA and GIET, and is currently being commercialized in about 30 countries, treating diabetic foot patients worldwide.
