Our ideal bioink formulations satisfy material and biological requirements that mimic cellular components found in tissue-specific microenvironments.

ROKIT now offers newly and uniquely formulated GELMA based bioink INVIVO GEL series. GelMA is gelatin modified with methacryloyl (MA) groups (degree of MA substitution varies). GELMA can be crosslinked with UV light (365㎚) in the presence of a photo-initiator (i.e. Lithium phenyl-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoylphosphinate (LAP)). INVIVO GEL bioink series has two distinctive advantages compared to other commercially available GELMA based bioink products.

First, INVIVO GEL provides a degree of freedom to tune the elastic modulus (or stiffness) according to user’s specific needs by changing concentration of INVIVO GEL (GELMA) and Gel-linker (A), a photo initiator. Also, by changing UV light (365㎚) exposure time, degree of cross-linking can be adjusted.

Second, special INVIVO GEL formulation mimics extracellular environment and excellent growth factor (VEGF A, TGF-β1, BMP-2, or GF of your choice) retention capability allows precise control of the extracelluar environment to the specific needs of your research.

The INVIVO-GEL kit is specifically developed and optimized for bioprinting of 3D structures. The INVIVO-GEL Essential kit includes optimally formulated gelatin-based hydrogel complex contained in syringes for easy dispensing. The kit also includes Gel-linker(A) (photoinitiator), which reinforces mechanical stability and Gel-linker (B) (Growth factor) which helps to induce cells to adjust proliferation or differentiate into a specific phenotype . A transparent hydrogel forms when contents are properly mixed and exposed to UV light.

Gel-linker (A) is in lyophilized form and should be reconstitute with sterile DI water (not provided) in 50X concentration. To reconstitute in 50X concentration, 400ul of sterile DI water should be used to completely dissolve the powder.
