ROKIT Healthcare (376900, CEO Seokhwan You), a global leader in AI-driven hyper-personalized organ regeneration, announced that it has received official notification of patent registration in China for its “Bio-printer Utilizing Cryogelation of Biomaterials and Its Cryogelation Method.”

With this newly granted patent, ROKIT Healthcare has secured the essential intellectual property and technical/legal foundation required to enter the diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) regenerative treatment market in China—the world’s largest nation in terms of diabetic population.

The patent represents the successful expansion of ROKIT Healthcare’s cryogelation-based bioprinting original technology—already leading domestically and globally—into China. This achievement establishes a critical beachhead for deploying high-value AI-driven regenerative solutions across the country, including diabetic-foot-specific regenerative patches, cartilage regeneration, and kidney regeneration.

China is the world’s largest diabetic foot market. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 2024 report, China has approximately 147.98 million adults (ages 20–79) living with diabetes. Additionally, a 2015 cohort study titled “A cohort study of diabetic patients and diabetic foot ulceration patients in China” reported that 8.1%—equivalent to roughly 12 million individuals—are undergoing treatment for diabetic foot ulceration.

ROKIT Healthcare has traditionally taken a cautious approach to the Chinese market due to concerns over intellectual property protection and regulatory risks. However, with the acquisition of this core foundational patent, the company plans to shift its strategy entirely and begin aggressive market expansion.
